Padmasana | Lotus Pose

Don’t underestimate the benefits of this easy pose! Although the lotus pose looks physically easy, it can be mentally challenging.

To begin with, meditating and letting all thoughts leave your mind will be harder than you think but stick at it; it is extremely effective at calming the brain when done correctly.

The pose – which is said to synchronize the two hemispheres of the brain – is shown to lower heart rate, reduce stress and help anxiety.

Tip: If putting your leg on top of the other is too strenuous just keep them folded, it’s no biggie!
